Seeds Academy Expands: Middle School Program Launching in 2025
2025-01-22

Imagine a school where learners break free from traditional classroom confines, discovering their passions through hands-on challenges, real-world problem-solving, and collaborative discussions. At Seeds Academy, this vision is already a reality and now it's growing.

As part of the global Acton Academy network, Seeds Academy is excited to announce the launch of its middle school program, expanding its innovative approach to education for the Upper Perkiomen Valley community. Starting in the 2025 school year, Seeds Academy will welcome students from grades K through 8, redefining learning for children in the region.

Seeds Academy's established programs are built on a foundation of blended-age group studios, Socratic discussions, and hands-on learning. Younger learners benefit from a balance of play-based learning, conflict resolution, and communication skill-building. As students progress, they engage in a dynamic mix of Core Skills (math and ELA instruction) and Quests which are cross-curricular projects that apply foundational knowledge across subject areas.

Community involvement is a cornerstone of the Seeds Academy experience. From community outings and guest experts to daily time in nature, learners develop a deep connection to the world around them.

With the launch of its middle school studio, Seeds Academy will welcome learners aged 11–13 to a program designed to bridge education and the real world. Middle schoolers will explore potential career paths through an innovative apprenticeship program, gaining firsthand experience in fields that spark their curiosity.

"Imagine middle school learners stepping out of the classroom and into the real world—shadowing a graphic designer, learning from a local entrepreneur, or assisting in a veterinarian's office," shared Justine Towarnicki, founder of Seeds Academy. "By introducing apprenticeships at the middle school level, we're giving learners a head start in discovering their passions and understanding how their education connects to the real world."

Seeds Academy is also opening its doors this summer with its third annual summer program. Designed to provide families with a taste of the school's learner-driven approach in a summer camp setting, the program features dynamic projects, collaborative challenges, outdoor recreation, and physical activities that keep children engaged and active throughout the summer months.

Families interested in learning more about Seeds Academy's programs—Spark (K-2), Discovery (3-5), or Middle School (6-8)—are invited to attend bi-monthly information nights. These events offer interactive tours, insights into daily routines, and the opportunity to meet the passionate educators driving Seeds Academy's mission.
