Tribe Swimmers Sweep Upper Merion

            Upper Perkiomen's swimming teams swept Upper Merion in a Pioneer Athletic Conference meet on Tuesday. The girls posted a 92-40 victory, while the boys delivered a 111-59 win at home.

Emily Forman competes in the 500 freestyle event.  She 

came away with a second place finish.

            Ellianna Smith won four races to lead her team. She won two individual events and was part of two successful relays for the Indians.

            Smith won the 100 butterfly (1:09.19) and the 200 IM (2:27.80). She competed in two victorious freestyle relay races.

            Charlotte Forte added three first-place finishes for the Tribe girls (2-4 overall, 2-2 PAC). She won the 50 free (27.41 seconds) and competed in two winning relays.

            Katie Kovalenko, Abby Moreland, Forte and Smith completed the 200 free relay in 1:57.14. In the 400 free relay, Forte, Ysabelle Santos, Leighton Keith and Smith won in 4:21.18.

            Kovalenko and Keith added two individual victories. Kovalenko finished first in the 200 free (2:16.13) and the 100 breaststroke (1:17.56).

            Keith won the 100 backstroke (1:12.2) and the 500 free (6:19.47). Santos

day's meet against Upper Merion.  He won the event with

a time of 58.38.

finished first in the 100 free (1:05.67).

            Nolan McCloskey and Hunter Francisco paced the Tribe boys (3-3 overall, 2-2 PAC) with four first-place finishes. McCloskey won two individual events, the 200 IM (2:04.56) and the 100 backstroke (56.51).

            Francisco finished first in the 200 yard freestyle (1:56.78) and the 100 butterfly (58.38). He and McCloskey were also part of two first-place finishing relay teams.

            They teamed with Evan Harter and Nate Wesner to win the 200 free relay in 1:37.53. In the 400 free relay, Harter and Jackson Kelly joined them to post a time of 3:36.35.

            Kelly won the 100 free (53.12). Brennan Rooney added a first place in the 50 free (24.43).

            Both teams resume their schedules Thursday with a home meet against conference rival Pottsgrove. They will host Spring-Ford on Tuesday.
