A Marlborough landscaper will be paid up to $8,000 to complete outside work at two schools in the Upper Perkiomen School District. Last month, the school board voted to approve an agreement with Buso Tree and Landscaping, LLC.
On Dec. 2, the members approved a proposal to spend $5,400 for work at the high school, located at 2 Walt Road, in Red Hill. The work includes the removal of a dying, large, hazardous oak tree in front of the high school driveway area. It also calls for the removal of all wood and brush, according to the proposal embedded in the meeting agenda posted on the district's website.
At the 4th & 5th Grade Center, located at 510 Jefferson St., in East Greenville, the landscaper will get $2,600 to remove two large spruce trees and two fallen spruce trees at the back of the property.
The work also includes the removal of one large, low mulberry limb and one broken limb lying in the same area as well as the removal of a couple of fallen trees pushed into a wood line between ball fields.
The members also voted to establish their meeting schedule for 2025. Regular meetings will continue on the second Thursday of the month, while workshop meetings will again be held on the fourth Thursday. Both will start at 7 p.m.
On June 19, the board will hold its only meeting of the month. No workshop meetings are scheduled for November or December.
The members will hold their first meeting of the year at 7 p.m. on Jan. 9 at the Education Center, located at 2229 East Buck Road in Upper Hanover.
