Robert "Bob" E. Bartholomew
2024-12-31

Robert "Bob" E. Bartholomew, 90, of Lansdale, peacefully passed into the arms of Jesus on December 30, 2024, with the love of family by his side.

Born in 1934, in Bechtelsville, to the late David and Mabel (Weller) Bartholomew, Bob's journey was one marked by dedication to his family, his faith, and his work.

Bob proudly served in the U.S. Army for two years, where he was stationed at a field hospital in Bad Kreuchnach, Germany. It was during this time that he earned his GED, a testament to his determination and commitment to personal growth. After his service, he dedicated 40 years to Teleflex Marine Industrial, Inc. in Boyertown, Limerick, and Hagerstown, MD. He retired in 1999 as their Traffic Manager.

In 1956, Bob married the love of his life, Jean D. (Gerhart) Bartholomew at St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church in Red Hill, beginning a beautiful journey that would last more than 70 years. Together, they raised three daughters, nurturing not only their growth but also creating a loving family environment filled with laughter and cherished memories. His family brought him immense joy. Bob's deep commitment to his church community was evident through his service as Sunday School superintendent at St. Paul's Church and as a member of the choir. He also served on the church board at Lighthouse Gospel Tabernacle for 28 years, before joining Calvary Church of Souderton in 1994, where he remained an active usher and member of the Harmony class and Barnabas Team.

Bob also enjoyed serving as a volunteer courier for St. Luke's Quakertown Hospital during his retirement.  He wore his vest proudly.

A passionate golfer and a collector of bibles and hats, Bob also loved traveling with his wife. He and Jean traveled to 38 countries and cruised together on 29 different occasions, creating adventures and memories that would last a lifetime. Bob had a contagious and persistent humor that did not fade, even during the difficult journey of Alzheimer's.  He always knew how to make us smile.

Bob's kind heart, unwavering faith, and vibrant spirit touched everyone he met, including the caring staff of Harmony House at Dock Woods Community and the members of the Grand View Hospice Team. He will be deeply missed by his wife, three daughters: Shari, wife of David Landis of East Greenville, Brenda, wife of Jim Shelly of Hatfield, and Carol, wife of Gene Ristaino, Winter Springs, FL; his five beloved grandchildren: Jonathan Landis (Tara), Jeremiah Landis (fiancé, Crystal Serafin), Isaac Shelly (Rebecca), Bethany Landis and Aubrey Shayegan (Rameen); much-adored great-grandchildren: Josiah, Elisha, Audrey, Emmalyn, Natalie and Benjamin; and siblings, David "Don" Bartholomew (the late, Senora), William Bartholomew (Joan), and Mabel "Sue" Steskal (the late, Joseph). He is predeceased by brother, Frank Bartholomew, and sisters, Joan Fluke and Doris Bartholomew.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, January 6, 2025, at Calvary Church of Souderton, 820 PA-113, Souderton, PA 18964. Friends are invited to a visitation from 9:30-10:45 a.m. Arrangements are entrusted to Mann-Slonaker Funeral Home, East Greenville. You may leave condolences and share memories by visiting www.mannslonakerfuneralhome.com.

In honor of Bob's generosity and unwavering faith, contributions may be made to Calvary Church of Souderton in his memory.
