Born in Allentown, he was a son of the late Victor and Anna (Gardian) Rickert.

Greg was a 1968 graduate of the Upper Perkiomen High School and went on to serve in the Army during the Vietnam War. Upon his return, he worked at the Certain Teed Co. in Ambler for several years. Then, Greg began a career at Knoll in the Woodshop for 25 years. Greg also was a stone and brick mason for several contractors in the Upper Perkiomen region.  He was also a member of the American Legion.

A car enthusiast, Greg spent many weekends at car shows and enjoyed watching NASCAR races. He was well known for his outdoor Christmas light display. He was very fond of his pets, Boomer and Johnny.

Along with his wife, Donna, Greg is survived by a daughter, Amy Rickert, wife of George Wertz, of East Greenville; a stepson: Frank Bartholomew Jr.; grandchildren; a sister, Cheryl Frank, of Pennsburg, and nieces & nephews. He was pre-deceased by siblings Kerry Allen Rickert & Cynthia G. Miller.
