Following his education, Mike began a lifelong career in education. He worked first for the Philadelphia School District and then he moved to the Allentown School District where he has been an educator for the last 26 years. Mike has always had a passion for sports. He was a former football coach at Trexler Middle School in Allentown, and he loved attending sporting events and auto races with his dad.             Along with his parents, Mike is survived by his sister, Joanne Koons of Royersford; his nieces, Brianna Berry, and Leah Koons; and his beloved dog, "Talula Mae".

To honor Mike, all are invited to gather with his family for a Celebration of his life at Falk Funeral Home, 163 Main St., Pennsburg, PA 18073. The family will greet and share memories with you from 10 – 12 p.m. on Saturday, December 21. A Celebration of Life service will follow at 12 p.m., officiated by Rev. Amy Smith, Pastor of his church. He will be laid to rest privately in Frieden's Union Cemetery, Sumneytown.
