Free Shredding Event in Red Hill on Oct. 19
2024-10-16

In her continuing effort to help residents battle identity theft, Rep. Milou Mackenzie (R-Lehigh/Montgomery/Northampton) will be holding a public paper shredding event on Saturday, Oct. 19, at Hope Valley Community Church, located at 501 Graber Alley, Red Hill, from 10 a.m. to noon.

"I'm pleased to offer this free document shredding event as a way to help residents safely dispose of sensitive documents and protect themselves from identity theft," said Mackenzie. "It's important to take steps to ensure your personal information doesn't fall into the wrong hands, and I encourage everyone in the community to take advantage of this convenient service."

Residents are invited to bring up to four boxes of paperwork, the approximate size of carry-on luggage, per vehicle for shredding. There is no need to remove staples or paper clips, but documents should be taken out of binders and notebooks. Attendees are asked to remain in their vehicles while staff and volunteers unload the documents to be shredded.

Because this event is meant for documents containing sensitive, identifying information, it is requested that residents not bring items which do not fit this description as these can be thrown out or recycled at home.

This event is for residents of the 131st Legislative District only. Businesses are kindly asked to dispose of their sensitive documents on their own. Due to the popularity of these events, no boxes will be accepted prior to the start time.

Shredding will be done on-site on a first-come, first-served basis. For more information, please contact the office of Rep. Milou Mackenzie by calling 610-965-5830 or visit repmiloumackenziepa.com.
