Linda G. Eiss
2024-09-23

Linda G. Eiss, beloved wife of the late Rev. Charles H. Eiss Jr., passed away

on September 19, 2024, at the Lutheran Home at Topton at the age of 80.

She was born in Staten Island to the late James and Marjorie (Sholl) Galloway.

She was a 1961 graduate of Tottenville High School.

Linda was a dedicated Emergency Services coordinator at Open Line, (now Open Link), where she selflessly served the community for 25 years. In her retirement, Linda continued to work part-time as a teller at Univest Bank.

A devout church member of St. John's Lutheran Church. Ever the pastor's wife, Linda sang in the choir during her husband's ministry and organized various events at the church, including the annual rummage sales and Christmas Bazaars, showcasing her commitment to serving others with love and kindness.

She was a long time member of the Green Lane-Marlboro Lioness Club, and served on WELCA. Even in her later years at the Lutheran Home at Topton, Linda remained active within the community, becoming the first woman President of the Residents' Life Association.

Linda leaves behind a legacy of service and compassion to be cherished by her sons, Dr. Steven Eiss and his wife Dr. Sara Pike and Rev. Brian Eiss and his wife Ellen, as well as her grandchildren: Emily, Hayden, Chase, and Ashley and siblings: siblings Susan Barkley and husband Albert, Lois Galloway, and James Galloway.

A Service for family and friends will be held on October 19th at St. John's Lutheran Church, 3104 Main Street, Sumneytown, PA at 11 a.m. with a luncheon to immediately follow.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in her memory to The Open Link or St. John's Lutheran Church, Sumneytown, PA
