Carl F. Slonaker Sr.
2024-09-01

            Carl F. Slonaker Sr., 89, longtime resident of the Upper Perkiomen Valley, 

passed away peacefully on August 31, 2024 at Frederick Living surrounded by his loving family.

            He was the husband of Doris J. "Tootie" (Heacock) Slonaker. Just this week they celebrated 70 years of marriage.

            Upon graduating from Upper Perkiomen High School, he served in the Navy in the Korean War.

            He began his working career as a draftsman for 15 years at Superior Tube in Collegeville before transitioning to a maintenance mechanic at the former Boise Cascade Corp. Later, he spent a decade as a custodian at Upper Perkiomen School District before retiring.

            Carl was a longtime member of St. John's Lutheran Church, Sumneytown, PA. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and was an accomplished woodworker.

            In addition to his wife, he is survived by a son, Carl F. "Skeeter" Slonaker Jr. and wife Sheri of East Greenville; daughter-in-law, Kelly Slonaker of Perkiomenville; siblings: William Slonaker, of Hendersonville, NC; Gerald Slonaker and wife Mildred, of Collegeville; sister: Janet Grubb and husband Richard, of Wellsboro; 4 grandchildren: Steve, Chris, Kasey, and Carson; 7 great-grandchildren: Josh, Nathan, Emily, Zaidyn, Braelyn, Grace and Sasha. He was recently predeceased by his son, Scot K. Slonaker.

            A viewing will take place at Mann-Slonaker Funeral Home, 222 Washington St., East Greenville, PA on Friday, September 6, 2024 beginning at 10 a.m., followed by a Funeral Service at 11 a.m. Burial will be in Friedens Union Cemetery.
