Marie F. (Brey) Grubb
2024-08-27

Marie F. (Brey) Grubb, a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great

grandmother, passed away peacefully on August 22, 2024.  She was 101 years old.

Marie was born on February 23, 1923 in Pennsburg to the late Irwin H. and Annie E. (Faut) Brey.

She earned her high school diploma from Pennsburg High School in 1939 and married her beloved husband, the late R. Leon Grubb, in Red Hill on January 9, 1946.

Marie worked as a seamstress at Rosenau Bros. Clothing Factory and later as a production line worker at Pillsbury. Once her daughter was born, she dedicated her time to being a homemaker.

She was a devout member of St. Mark's Lutheran Church in Pennsburg, where she sang in the choir. She also loved jigsaw puzzles and playing cards and Scrabble. She was incredibly proud of her family, loved them deeply, and will be most remembered as someone who always put her family, and others, first.

She is survived by her daughter, Rebecca L. Sterner, and her husband, Gerald, of Quakertown; granddaughter, Ashlyn Loyko, and her husband, Matthew, of Northampton; grandson, Cody Sterner of Rockville, MD; two great grandchildren, Mason and Rowan; and several nieces and nephews.  In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by her brothers, John and Paul Brey; and nephew, Steven Brey.

Relatives and friends are invited to a visitation on Friday, September 6, 2024 from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. at Monaghan Funeral Home, 612 Main Street, Red Hill, PA 18076.  A funeral service will follow at 11 a.m. at the funeral home. Interment will be in St. Mark's Church Cemetery, Pennsburg.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Marie's name are requested to St. Mark's Lutheran Church: https://secure.myvanco.com/L-Z2G9

Funeral arrangements entrusted to Monaghan Funeral Home, Inc.  (215) 679-6400
