Barry B. Simmon
2024-08-24

            Barry B. Simmon, 83, of Quakertown, passed away peacefully on Friday, 

August 23rd, 2024.

            Born in Allentown, he was the son of the late William and Edith (Smith) Simmon.

            Barry worked for Ryder Truck of Pennsburg. He was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church in Sumneytown. He was also a member of the Boulder Valley Gun Club in Sumneytown, where he was a past director, the Green Lane Fire Co., the Red Hill Fire Co., and the East Greenville Fire Co. He was a life member of both the Sassamansville Fire Co. and the Gabelsville Athletic Association.

            He was a member of the Sons of the American Legion in Topton, and the Macungie Veteran's Association. An avid motorcyclist, he was a founding member of the Freedom Rider's Motorcycle Club in Red Hill and a life member of the AMA. Barry was also an outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting and fishing and was a member of the NRA.

            Barry is survived by his sons, Randy of East Greenville, Michael of Macungie, and Timothy of Quakertown; his grandchildren: Brandon, Logan, and Myalee; and his sister, Delores, Drach of New Jersey. He was predeceased by a grandson, Kodon, who died recently.

            All are invited to gather with his family from 10 – 11 a.m. on Friday, August 30 with a service to follow at 11 a.m. at the Falk Funeral Home, Pennsburg, PA 18073. He will be laid to rest in St. Paul's Church Cemetery in Red Hill immediately following the service.

            In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in his memory to St. John's Lutheran Church, 3104 Main St., Green Lane, PA 18054.
