The Red Hill Borough Council authorized application for a Multimodal Transportation Fund grant at their meeting on Wednesday, August 14.
The borough is requesting $1,075,125 from the fund, which is administered by the State Department of Commerce and Economic Development. The funds will be used for stormwater management, sidewalks, and ADA ramps on Hendricks Road.
The council also approved a proposal from their engineering firm, Remington and Vernick Engineers, for a design and survey of the community park, not to exceed $41,700, funded by the Montco 2040 grant.
The council had an extensive discussion about the rules and use of Centennial Park, which is identified as a "passive" park to be used for walking. Upper Hanover Township owns half of the park property and is technically the owner. The council determined that any kind of event that would normally require a permit would not be permitted in Centennial Park.
The council heard a presentation from Eagle Scout candidate Chase Hector, from Troop 90, who has proposed building a bike rack near the parking lot at Centennial Park. The rack will be constructed with pressure-treated wood.
The council met in executive session during the meeting to discuss potential litigation. No action was taken.
