Dorothy Marie (Hoffman) Scheetz
2024-08-16

            Dorothy Marie (Hoffman) Scheetz, 90, of Athens, TN, formerly of 

Quakertown, PA passed away peacefully on Tuesday, August 13, 2024 at Terra Bella in Athens, TN. She was the wife of the late George H. Scheetz with whom she shared 47 years of marriage before his passing in 2000.

            Born in Red Hill, PA, she was the daughter of the late Harry and (Emma) Peterson Hoffman.

            For Dorothy, her family was her life and they meant everything to her. She enjoyed cooking, canning, playing the piano and going to church faithfully every Sunday. She was a lifelong member of New Goshenhoppen United Church of Christ in East Greenville before moving to Tennessee.

            Surviving are her three children, Jeffrey Scheetz and wife, Pheap of Winn, ME, Perry Scheetz and wife, Mary of Riceville, TN and Cindy, wife of Wayne George of Port Orange, FL; a brother, Bob King of Perkasie, PA; seven grandchildren, Nathan, Justin, Brandon, Ryan, Ashley, Zachary and Katrina; three step-grandchildren, Marella, Nathan and Matthew; nine great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.  She is predeceased by siblings, Betty, Ralph, Henry, Frieda and Jean.

            A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, August 21, 2024 at New Goshenhoppen UCC, 1070 Church Rd, East Greenville, PA 18041 with a burial following in the church cemetery. Family and friends may attend a viewing in the parlor of the church starting at 10 a.m.

            Arrangements are entrusted to Mann-Slonaker Funeral Home, East Greenville, PA.
