2024-07-12

Charles S. "Charlie" Hoffman, 74, of East Greenville, passed away

peacefully on Wednesday, July 10th, 2024, following a brief illness.

Born in Lansdale, he was the son of the late Jacob and Kathryn (Saylor) Hoffman. He was the beloved husband of Bette (Reese) Hoffman.

He graduated from Souderton High in 1967. Charlie served his country honorably in the Army during the Vietnam War. Following his service, he spent decades serving his clients and the community as a self-employed builder and home remodeler in the Upper Perkiomen Valley area.

His community service projects include the concession stand at the Mann Baseball Field, and the pavilion on the grounds of Hereford Elementary School.

He was a lifelong active member of Christ Lutheran Church in Harleysville where he served on the property committee for over 50 years.

Along with his wife, Charlie is survived by his sons, Andrew Reese Hoffman and his wife, Kristen of South Portland, Maine, and Joel Reese Hoffman and his wife, Kaitlin of Ambler, PA. He is also survived by his beloved grandchildren:  Claire Regina and Evie Reese Hoffman. He was also survived by two sisters and predeceased by a brother, Donald Hoffman.

All are invited to gather with his family at 11 a.m. on Monday, August 19th, for a Memorial Service at Christ Lutheran Church, 2211 Mainland Rd., Harleysville, PA 19438.

In lieu of flowers, contributions are suggested in his memory to  the "Restoration Fund" for the newly found stained glass windows at his church.
