Seven residents were left homeless when they escaped from a fire that damaged their home in the 100 block of Main Street, East Greenville on Sunday night.

and quickly responded with the first unit arriving on the scene in less than five minutes.
Flames were reported coming from the second-floor bedroom window.
According to East Greenville Fire Chief Jason Wilson, firefighters were able to quickly extinguish the flames and he declared the fire under control at 8:57 p.m. Firefighters laid a hose-line from the hydrant at Second and Main streets to supply water. Main Street was closed from Third Street to Front Street during the event.
The fire was contained to the front bedroom on the second floor. The rest of the second and third floors sustained smoke and heat damage and there was water damage to the first floor.
No injuries were reported among the residents or firefighters and no damage estimate was available.
The residents of the home were offered assistance from the American Red Cross. Montgomery County property records list the owners as Jennifer Hartzel and William Donofrio III.
The cause of the fire is under investigation by the East Greenville Fire Marshall and the Pennsylvania State Police Fire Marshall. The preliminary cause is suspected to be electrical.
In addition to East Greenville additional companies responding included, from Montgomery County, Pennsburg, Red Hill; and Green Lane; from Berks County, Hereford; from Bucks County, Milford Township and Trumbauersville; and from Lehigh County, Upper Milford Western District Fire Company.
Also responding were emergency service units from the Upper Perkiomen Valley Ambulance Association and the Bally Community Ambulance.
The last units on the scene returned to their stations and Main Street was re-opened at 10:30 p.m.
