Ronald R. “Ziggy” Zeigenfuse
2024-06-07

            Ronald R. "Ziggy" Zeigenfuse, 76, of Harleysville, died Wednesday, 

June 5, 2024.  He was the beloved husband of Ruth (Yanof) Zeigenfuse, his wife of 22 years.

            Born October 13, 1947 in Mahatango, PA, he was a son of the late Ronald Zeigenfuse and Laura (Tietsworth) Hernandez.

            Early in his career, Ziggy worked as a barber for many years.  He then was employed with Merck for over 20 years.

            Ron was a Past Master and current Chaplain of Perkiomen Lodge No. 595 F&AM and was also a member of W.K. Bray Southampton Lodge No. 410 F&AM.  He was recently awarded his 50 Year Pin of service to the Masons.  Ziggy was also active with the LuLu Temple and the LuLu Klownz.

            Additional survivors include his children, Anna Marie Ronnan (Sean) of Pennsburg, Michael J. Astler (Jamie) of Sellersville, Liza Hartman (Heath) of Texas, and Heidi Ray (Troy) also of Texas; as well as his son, Steven; and daughters, Bobbie and Susan Astler; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and his sister, Gloria (John) of Ashland, PA.

            He was preceded in death by his brother, Neil; and son, Daniel.

            Relatives and friends may call after 4 p.m. Wednesday, June 12, 2024 at Huff & Lakjer Funeral Home, 701 Derstine Ave., Lansdale, followed by a Masonic Service at 4:45 p.m.  The Memorial Service will begin at 5 p.m.  Interment will be private. 

            In lieu of flowers, the family requests that contributions be made in Ron's memory to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105 or to Shriners Hospitals for Children, 2900 N. Rocky Point Drive, Tampa, FL 33607.
