and community-based gathering where people shop locally and meet the faces behind the product they are sampling or purchasing.
The event is presented by the Souderton-Telford Business and Professional Women. It highlights the amazing farmers, craftsmen, local vendors, and non-profit community organizations in our area. It brings the statement "Eat Clean. Shop Local. Give Back!" to life.
Diana Trotter, a member of the Souderton-Telford Business and Professional Women's group, also assists on the planning committee for the event. "We keep it local and we keep it handmade," she said.
At the Locally Grown Showcase, you will only find local farmers, food, handmade items, artisans and non-profits.
Diana explained that, in 2016, a committee was formed to discuss ideas for a big annual fundraiser. In the past, the organization hosted fashion show luncheons. They wanted to start a new project. They wanted to connect to their community.
"At the heart of it was the community itself, sharing and supporting local

The planning committee consists of seven members: Allison Derstine, Lindsey Menzen, Colleen Gular, Mary Montroy, Rachel Finlayson, Barb Eyrich, and Diana Trotter. They start planning the event in the fall of the previous year. Other members then pitch in to help leading up to and on the day of the event. This year, 17 members assisted at the showcase.
There were over 70 vendors, six food trucks, a local henna artist and face painter, two bands, local mascots, a magic show, and Crimson Sky Alpacas.
Local farmers included Garden of Health, Clean Green Growers and Living Hope Farm. Artisans included Lucky You Candles, White Squirrel Market and Three Tuxedos Pottery.
There are also vendors with wine, hard cider and spirits from Three Sisters Rum. There is something for everyone. The vibe is welcoming, inclusive and friendly.
The event is also about cooperation and working together. Diana explained that one objective of their organization is to listen to the feedback from the township, vendors and the community. They always want to improve and come back better than

the year before with the Locally Grown Showcase.
She also said, "It takes a village to put this event together" and finding sponsorships is also important to sustain the annual event.
The Locally Grown Showcase is a wonderful way to engage with our community and support local businesses. If you missed this year's event, definitely join the festivities next year. Eat good food, drink yummy drinks and explore the artistry. It's a good way to spend a Saturday.
