With many candidates running unopposed there were still a few races of local interest during Tuesday's Primary Election Day voting. Those results could lead to some very competitive contests in the November General Election.
In the race for the Republican nomination for the First Congressional District, covering Bucks County and parts of Montgomery County, incumbent Brian Fitzpatrick defeated challenger Mark Houck. Fitzpatrick will face Democrat Ashley Ehasz in November.
The contest for the Republican nomination to represent the 7th Congressional District went to State Representative Ryan Mackenzie, who will go on to face Democrat incumbent Susan Wild in the General Election.
Erin McCelland holds the lead over State Rep. Ryan Bizzarro in the race for the Democratic nominee for Pennsylvania State Treasurer. The winner will take on Republican incumbent Stacy Garrity, who ran unopposed, in November's General Election.
For the Democratic nominee for Attorney General, former Auditor General Eugene DePasquale will face Republican York County District Attorney Dave Sunday.
In a Berks County race for the Republican nomination for Pennsylvania's 11th Senatorial District, Lisha Rowe topped Miquel Vasquez. She will now face Democratic incumbent Judy Schwank, who ran unopposed and is seeking a fourth term to represent the district.
In the Democratic race to represent the 131st District in Pennsylvania, Meriam Sabih is leading Jayharon Santos. The 131st District includes parts of Lehigh, Northampton, and Montgomery Counties. The winner will face Republican incumbent Milou Mackenzie, who ran unopposed.
