Eric Albert Wade, 77, of Alburtis passed away peacefully on Thursday,
April 4th, 2024.
Born in Astoria, New York, he was the son of the late Irving and Virginia Wade.
He graduated from Upper Perkiomen High School with the class of 1964. He proudly served his country in the Army during the Vietnam War. Following his honorable discharge from the military, Eric became a talented draftsman and worked for Fischer & Porter and Ingersoll Rand Co.
Over the next few years, his interests changed when he became manager of The Pub Restaurant in Quakertown PA. This led Eric to pursue his desire to become a proprietor. At which time he purchased the historic Inn at Maple Grove, Alburtus, PA. Eric's magnetic personality, the charm of the restaurant and fine dining experience allowed him to successfully operate his restaurant for forty years.
He enjoyed spending time with his friends, golfing, traveling, and the possibility of becoming a "High Roller" at the casino.
Eric is survived by his son, Eric Adam Stover, and his daughter, Nichole Virginia Rice, both of Chesapeake, Virginia; his grandchildren: Alec and his wife, Shandler, Hannah and her husband Matt, Madison, Andrew, Adley, and Luke; his great granddaughter: Charlotte; and his sister, Janet V. wife of John J. Wagler of East Greenville.
All are invited to a viewing in the parlor of New Goshenhoppen United Church of Christ, 1070 Church Rd., East Greenville, on Tuesday, April 9, from 12 – 1:45 p.m. A Celebration of his life will be held at 2 p.m. in the church sanctuary. Following the service, he will be laid to rest beside his parents in the church graveyard.
In lieu of flowers, contributions are suggested in his memory to East Penn Hill Lion and Lioness Club, 200 State Street, East Greenville, PA 18041.
