Perkiomen School's baseball team won the RGIT Mercersburg Tournament over the weekend, taking three games and outscoring opponents 44-5.
The Panthers capped their performance with a 16-3 win over the host team. Hunter Petrich and Cesar Lopez both homered on Saturday, March 30.
Petrich's solo shot sparked a five-run rally in the third inning. He added an RBI double during the inning. Sammy Laux drove in two runs.
In the fourth inning, Lopez's two-run homer highlighted a four-run rally for the Panthers (4-1). Two innings later, Zach Mayza added an RBI triple to cap a six-run outburst.
One day earlier, Perkiomen School won two games. It defeated the Broadfording Christian Academy, 14-2, and Linsly School, 14-0, on Friday, March 29.
Erick Diaz drove in four runs during the first inning against Broadfording. He delivered a two-run homer and a two-run single to highlight an eight-run rally.
The Panthers added five more runs in the third inning on run-scoring singles by Kross Howarth, Lopez and Sammy Laux. Howarth finished with two hits, two runs scored and three RBIs.
In the win over Linsly School, the Panthers scored four runs in the first inning and seven more in the second. In the third inning, Avery Smith hit a solo home run and Laux added an RBI hit.
Howarth earned the mound win by allowing just one hit over three innings. He struck out four.
