Shirley F. Keyser
2024-03-28

            Shirley Fay (Schaffer) Keyser passed away peacefully with her loving 

husband of 68 years by her side on March 26, 2024. She was the beloved, and well cared for wife of Laverne H. Keyser, Perkiomenville. Shirley was 88 years old.

            Shirley was born on November 8, 1935, in Spinnerstown, PA. She is predeceased by her parents Ida (Angstadt) and Arthur W. Schaffer, her sister Joyce Wimmer, and a nephew, William "Billy" Nice.

            Shirley's youthful days included graduating from Upper Perkiomen High School Class of 1953 and working at Woodson's Dairy where she met the love of her life and married him. She continued her education and received her LPN nursing degree from Reading-Muhlenberg Technical School. She enjoyed working many years in nursing at St. Joseph Hospital, Reading, Pottstown Memorial Medical Center, Pottstown, Pennhurst State School and Hospital, Spring City, and Coventry Family Practice, North Coventry.

            She was a member of St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church, Red Hill and Eastern Star Bird Chapter 460 Birdsboro.

            Along with her husband she is survived by their children: Gary L. Keyser and his wife Darlene of Brigantine, NJ, Debra L, wife of James Bock of Sarasota FL, and Diane L., wife of Robert Hartlieb, of Blandon PA; grandchildren: Joshua DeVough, Nicole (DeVough) Mazich, Taylor (Keyser) Ciambriello, Brian Keyser, Tyler Bock; step-grandchildren: Nathaniel and Alyssa Hartlieb; great grandchildren: Isabelle DeVough, Derek DeVough, McKenzie Mazich, Morgan Mazich, and Amelia Ciambriello; a sister Sandra Nice, nieces: Wendy Deitcher, Melissa Schweizerhof, and a nephew, Michael Wimmer.

            She loved spending time with her family and friends. Her hobbies included traveling, snow skiing, boating and relaxing at the beach.

            Family and friends are invited to attend a viewing on Monday, April 1st from 10-11 a.m. with services to follow at the Falk Funeral Homes & Crematory, 163 Main St, Pennsburg, PA 18073. She will be laid to rest at St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church Cemetery, Red Hill.
