Bear Creek hosts the annual Cardboard Box Race

Thomas Nicholl nd Sabrina Kennedy, of Emmaus, fly down the slope with and air-horn blaring in their railroad themed Reading Engine 903 sled.

Participants in last weekend's annual Cardboard Box Race run behind their sled to get some speed before jumping on.  Sleds were constructed from cardboard, duct tape, and zip-ties for the event, held Sunday, March 10 at Bear Creek Mountain Resort in Longswamp Township.
The team of Swartz Family Racing, from Coopersburg, celebrate as they cross the finish line.  They won the event. Joseph Hakim rides his sled, Shark Attack, down the slopes in a semifinal heat.
Spectators cheer as two of the 25 participanting sleds raced down the hill.
