Derek Sherer
2024-03-12

Derek Sherer, 42, of East Greenville, passed away on Friday,

March 8, 2024.

Born in Allentown, he was the son of Janice (Baker) Rodenberger also of East Greenville and the late Daniel Sherer.

Derek was a graduate of Upper Perk High School and was employed at Finishing Edge in East Greenville for many years as a concrete mason.

Derek was artistic, creative and had an impressive talent in clay sculpting. He loved animals and enjoyed sculpting them the most, especially elephants. He loved going to the zoo, listening to music, the Rolling Stones being his favorite, cheering on all Philadelphia sports teams, and traveling to Ocean City, Maryland with his family and friends.

He was very closely bonded with and received so much love from his mother, late Grammy Anne Sherer, Uncle Kevin and Aunt Jane Baker and his brothers, Rich and Chad. He also loved his nieces and nephew deeply.

In addition to his mother, Janice, he is survived by his two brothers, Chad Baker and Rich Rodenberger and wife, Brittany; nieces, Sophia and Clara Baker and Olivia Rodenberger; and his nephew, Cole Rodenberger.

A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. on Sunday, March 17, 2024 at Mann-Slonaker Funeral Home, 222 Washington St., East Greenville, PA 18041. You may visit with the family starting at 11 a.m.

You may offer condolences and share memories by visiting www.manslonakerfuneralhome.com.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in his memory to The Elmwood Park Zoo at 1661 Harding Boulevard, Norristown, PA 19401.
