Shooting Reported in East Greenville

UPDATED, March 8, 2:15 p.m.

            Police and Ambulance personnel responded around 8:15 this morning to the 200 block of Jefferson St. in East Greenville for the report of a deadly shooting.

            Volunteer Fire Police from the East Greenville Fire Company were dispatched to close Jefferson St. from Front to Third.  A lockdown was put in place the Upper Perkiomen 4-5 Center, but has since been removed.

            Police vehicles could be seen blocking Jefferson Street at West 2nd Street in East Greenville.

            According to reports, Pennsylvania State Police confirmed there was a shooting.  No additional details were available and the Montgomery County District Attorney's Office confirmed the shooting was being investigated as a homicide.

            Also, the incident was reported to be domestic in nature and there is no apparent danger to the public..

            The Coroner arrived on the scene shortly after noon.

            The incident is under investigation by the Montgomery County District Attorney's office.
