Andrew M. Shearer
2024-03-05

Andrew M. Shearer, 54, of Green Lane, passed away in the comfort of

his home surrounded by family and friends on Monday, March 4, 2024.

Andy was born at home in Barto to parents Cyril "Pete" Shearer of Green Lane and the late Margaret (Ferkins) Forbes. He was the step-son of Val Pistilli and the late Doug Forbes and Karen Shearer.

After earning his GED, Andy began his career in metal fabrication where he operated a steel shear for many years while he was employed at Ken Foesig Sheet Metal and for Scott Bergey. He was also a member of the Green Lane and Red Hill Fire Companies.

Andy was a likeable and a loyal person to those he loved. He was quick to show up for his family and friends anytime it was needed, many times without even being asked. He was funny, kind and loved to make people smile. He loved his friends and had many lifetime relationships and friendships that he cherished.

Andrew enjoyed any amount of time he got to spend with family and friends; however, his favorite time spent, was up at the cabin in Duncannon sitting around the bonfire with the ones he loved most telling jokes and stories for hours on end.

In addition to his father, he is survived by sister, Donna Harmon and husband, Duane; step-sister, Amy Ryan and husband, Darryl; step-brother, Andrew Gilbert and wife, Eileen; and nieces and nephews, Nathaniel "Cole", Emily, Shawn, Justin, Bryannika, Kristofer and Brion.

He is also predeceased by his nephew, Zachary.

A memorial service will be held at 11 A.M. on Friday, March 8, 2024 at Mann-Slonaker Funeral Home, 222 Washington Street, East Greenville, PA 18041. Family and friends may gather starting at 9 A.M.

You may leave online condolences and share memories by visiting www.mannslonakerfuneralhome.com.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in his memory to the Green Lane Fire Co., 214 Main St., Green Lane, PA 18054.
