Looking for Qualified Candidates
2024-01-18

This just in: Joe Biden has dropped out of the race for President of the United States.  Also just in, Donald Trump has dropped out of the race as well.

            Now what?

Of course, the above statements are false (at this time) but what if it were true?

What other candidates would be strong enough to come forward.  Yes, we currently have alternatives but none with the polling power of Trump and Biden.

The campaign season would start anew as those already in the race would try and ramp up their electiveness while other newcomers would jump in and play catch-up.

What other candidates would you like to see in the race?  Who would be able to do the job of commander in chief of the greatest nation on earth?

What criteria do want from the candidate?  How will they address world peace, the economy, immigration, support (or not) for Ukraine or Israel, preventing expansion of current conflicts into world war, abortion, divisiveness among the people in the United States, peaceful protests versus not so peaceful protests, and a host of other issues that concern you?

How can they win your vote?

Probably a good candidate can start out by being somebody instead of not being their opponent.  Yes, we all know how bad your opponent is, you keep telling us.  But, how good are you?  How good are the people around you?  You are being advised by others, it would help to know about them and the reasons that they have your ear and trust.  Are they experienced?  Do they have a positive track record as government advisors?  Do they have a past that we should know about?

Currently, many voters are looking for those answers before they make their voting decision.

It would be helpful if all of that information came from all of the candidates, including the ones that are polling ahead of the others - President Biden and former President Trump.

The reason I am voting for one is because he is not the other should not be the only criteria that voters should be forced to consider.

If that's all we have, maybe we should be looking for other qualified candidates.
