Richard Schuler, Jr.

Richard P. Schuler Jr., 66, passed peacefully on January 4, 2024. Born in Allentown, he was the son of the late Richard and Pauline (Peterson) Schuler. He was the beloved companion of Cheryl Dries.

A 1975 graduate of Upper Perkiomen High School, Rick worked as a truck driver for various companies such as Allen Distribution, H&K, DA Landis, and most recently Sands Ford as a delivery driver.

Rick was very active with the East Greenville Fire Company, serving on the House Committee and the Upper Perk Ambulance, serving for a time as President of the Ambulance Association. He was also a member of New Goshenhoppen UCC where he was a former consistory member.

A sports fan, Rick enjoyed NASCAR races, his favorite driver being Kevin Harvick. He was also a fan of the San Fransico 49ers, and the Philadelphia Phillies. He enjoyed coffee with his buddies, going to car shows, and spending time with his family, especially his beloved grandchildren.

Along with his companion, Cheryl Dries, he is survived by two sons: Bryan and his wife, Gretchen, of East Greenville, and Eric and his wife, Krista, of Fleetwood; brothers: David and his wife, Delores, of Wescosville, and Gary and his wife, Sandy, of Franconia; a sister: Christine, wife of Brian Werkheiser, of Red Hill; and his grandchildren: Carson Strouphar, and Ashley, Brandon, Brantley and Olivia Schuler.

Family and friends are invited to celebrate Rick's life on Saturday, January 13, 2024, at 11 a.m. at New Goshenhoppen United Church of Christ, 1070 Church Road, East Greenville, PA 18041. Family and friends are invited to gather in the church Parlor from 10 a.m. until the service begins in the church sanctuary. Following the service, he will be interred in the church cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations are suggested in his memory to New Goshenhoppen UCC or to East Greenville Fire Department Engine Room, 401 Washington St, East Greenville, PA 18041.
