Ronald Karl Long
2023-12-20

            Ronald Karl Long, 86, of Harleysville, passed away peacefully on Tuesday,

December 19, 2023 at Grand View Hospital. He was the loving husband of Shirley E. (Romano) Long, with whom he shared 31 years of marriage.

            Born in Green Lane, he was the son of the late Ephraim T. and Florence May (Bishop) Long.

            Ron was a graduate of Upper Perk High School, where he excelled in basketball. He was employed with American Olean Tile as a Fork Lift Mechanic for 41 years and then retired from Hi-Boy, Inc.

            He loved building things and working with his hands, taking long walks outdoors, fishing, and dancing. Ron was a good man and an even greater, husband, father and pop-pop. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him.

            In addition to his wife, he is survived by three children, Kim King and husband, Mike, Ronald B. Long and wife, Lisa and Michele Buick and husband, Joe; two step-children, Debra Godshall and husband, Steve and James Shock and wife, Deborah; and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He is predeceased by a daughter, Pamela Long; step-son, Ronald Shock; sister, Ella Underkoffler; and three brothers, Ephraim, Leroy and Richard Long.

            A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, December 27, 2023 at Mann-Slonaker Funeral Home, 222 Washington St., East Greenville, PA 18041. A visitation will begin at 10 a.m.
