Pennepacker Earns State A.D. Hall of Fame Honors

Pennepacker, a graduate of Lock Haven University with a degree in health and physical education, earned a master's degree in sports and athletic administration from West Chester University, and both secondary and elementary principal's certification from the University of Scranton. The 1976 Upper Perkiomen graduate served as athletic director for a total of 26 years in the Perkiomen Valley, Blue Mountain, Twin Valley, Susquehanna Township and State College school districts.
She has coached swimming, basketball, softball, volleyball and field hockey. For eight years, Pennepacker served as a PIAA basketball official.
Pennepacker was instrumental in organizing the District I Athletic Director's Association and served as chair of the district's girls lacrosse committee for two years. She has been a member of the Pennsylvania State Athletic Directors Association executive council since 2000.
As a current school board member in the Upper Perkiomen School District she is a member of the PIAA Board of Directors as the Pennsylvania School Boards Association (PSBA) representative. In addition, she served as a PSBA/PSADA Sports Law Instructor.
Pennepacker earned the Certified Athletic Administrator designation from the National Interscholastic Athletic Administrators' Association (NIAAA) in 1995 and was an American Sports Education Program instructor for four different courses. She has been an instructor for the NIAAA Leadership Training Institute and has served on the NIAAA National Faculty since 2000, and was appointed to the Advisory Board of the Association of Title IX Administrators (ATIXA) in 2014.
She has presented numerous clinics and workshops and has written over two dozen articles for the National Federation of State High School Association's magazine, "High School Today," on Title IX topics.
For her extensive work in athletic administration, Pennepacker has received numerous awards including the NIAAA State Award of Merit 2003, the PSADA Distinguished Service Award 2010, the PSADA Citation Award 2011, and the NIAAA Thomas E. Frederick Award of Excellence 2020. She was inducted into the NIAAA Hall of Fame in 2022 at the National Athletic Directors Conference in Nashville, TN.
A formal induction ceremony will be held at the annual PSADA Conference in March 2024 in Hershey.
