It was another spooktacular Trunk or Treat at The Birches at Harleysville. The senior community welcomed trick-or-treaters and their families for some pre-Halloween fun, including lots of candy and pumpkin painting.

The event also collected cat and dog items for two animal rescue organizations, Harley's Haven Dog Rescue and Feline Frenzy Cat Rescue, to support the animals in their care. The first 100 participants with a donation received a free pumpkin to paint.
Community partners also made this year's Trunk or Treat a success by decorating their trunks and handing out candy. For the second year, Karen Michaels from AccentCare won "Best Trunk" for her Candyland-inspired theme.
"The Birches team loves providing a safe and free alternative to traditional Halloween trick-or-treating, and it brings such joy to our residents when they get to see the kids in their different costumes," Marketing Director for The Birches Nicole Martinez said.
