Rae Shelley (Wright) Doremus
2023-10-24

            Rae Shelley (Wright) Doremus, 68, of Pennsburg, passed away on Monday,

October 23, 2023 at St. Luke's Hospice House in Bethlehem after a battle with pancreatic cancer. She was the loving wife of Nelson C. Doremus, with whom she spent 42 years of marriage.

            Born in Potsdam, NY, she was the daughter of the late Raymond and Evelyn (Greene) Wright.

            Shelley was a 1972 graduate of Norwood Norfolk High School. She was a machine operator for Midgard Plastics in Green Lane for 13 years and following she was a line cook and supply coordinator for New Life Youth and Family Services in Schwenksville. She retired as a prep and assistant cook from Peter Becker in 2019.

            Shelley's greatest love was her family but she also loved to bake, cook and sew. She also enjoyed summer vacations in the Adirondack Mountains, New York and loved spending winter months on the beach in Emerald Isle, North Carolina which she called her "happy place".

            Surviving along with her husband are her three children, Danielle Felix Bergmann (Eli Bernhard), Danette Felix and Jared Doremus and wife, Courtney Lasko; six grandchildren, Shawn and Alex Bergmann, Catherine Gruber, Lavinia Dinnell, Amelia Doremus and Evie Bernhard; and her seven siblings, Sheila Blanchard and husband, Jerry, Sharon Tom and husband, Kerry, David Wright and wife, Jenary, Charles "Mickey" Wright, Elgin "Joe" Wright and wife, Shari, Sherrie Wright, Shelene Wright (Bryan Gilbert); and numerous nieces and nephews.  She is predeceased by three younger brothers, Ray Wright Barkley, and Dennis and Lawrence Wright.

            Services will be private at this time.

            Memorial contributions may be made in her memory to the Lustgarten Foundation at www.lustgarten.org.
