Marion Z. Bair
2023-10-03

            Marion Z. Bair (nee: Zehner) passed away peacefully on Saturday,

September 30, 2023 at the age of 101.  She resided in Pennsburg, PA living formerly in Bethlehem, Ivyland and Jamison. 

            Born in Easton, PA the daughter of the late David and Florence Zehner, she was the beloved wife for 57 years of the late Earl C. Bair, the loving mother of Randall and his wife Lea, Keith A. and his wife Marjorie, the loving grandmother of Brian (Melissa), Michael, Diane (Justin Roberson), Matthew, Marcus (Kristen) and great grandmother of Tristan, Lucas, Benjamin, Brayden, Brook, Brylee and Orion.  She was preceded in death by her brother David "Jack" Zehner and her sister Maryjane Patten (William). Also surviving are 15 nieces, nephews and their families.

            Marion received a BA degree from Wilson College majoring in Languages. Upon graduating in 1944 she was recruited by the Army to go to Washington as a code breaker.  She then taught at New Hope Solebury High School, multiple languages including French which she would occasionally use until her final days. 

            She met Earl in New Hope and after a short romance was married.  She and Earl had over 57 years together before his passing in 2004.  She was a devoted wife, mother, homemaker, and confidant to her family.  She enjoyed many trips with her immediate and extended families. 

            Along with volunteering for 23 years with Meals on Wheels her hobbies included playing Scabble and bridge. She always found good in everyone which was likely her secret to living to be 101.

            Her family will receive relatives and friends Saturday, October 7, 2023 from 9:45 to 10:45 a.m. in Addisville Church, 945 Second Street Pike, Richboro, PA 18954. Her funeral service will be celebrated at 11 a.m. with interment following in Union Cemetery.
