Karen (Stevens) Shearer
2023-10-03

Karen (Stevens) Shearer, 77, of Green Lane, passed away on Sunday, October

1, 2023. She was the loving wife of Cyril "Pete" Shearer, with whom she shared 38 years of marriage. They were in the Forever Lovers club at Cove Haven, where they stayed to celebrate their anniversaries.

Born in Lansdale, she was the daughter of the late Hartman and Pauline (Thomas) Stevens.

She was a 1964 graduate of Upper Perkiomen High School and worked many years at Harleysville Insurance before her retirement in 2008.

Karen enjoyed watching football; especially when the Eagles would play the Giants. Her happy place was in her kitchen baking. She was an excellent baker and loved sharing her delicious treats with family and friends. Above all of this, her most precious time was spent with her family. She loved being a mother and a grammy.

Surviving along with her husband, are her children, Amy Ryan and husband, Darryl, Andrew Gilbert and wife, Eileen, step-daughter, Donna Harmon and husband, Duane and step-son, Andrew Shearer; seven grandchildren, Emily and Shawn Ryan, Justin Barr, Bryannika, Kristofer and Brion Gilbert and Nathaniel "Cole" Harmon; three great-grandchildren, Hunter, Dawson and Ethan; and three sisters, Pam Bowlin, Dawn Marinucci and Lori Schmoyer.

In addition to her parents, she is predeceased by a grandson, Zachary Harmon and a sister, Marty Leber.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, October 13, 2023 at Mann-Slonaker Funeral Home, 222 Washington St., East Greenville, PA 18041 with a burial following in Frieden's UCC cemetery in Sumneytown. Family and friends may gather from 10 to 10:45 at the funeral home. You may leave online condolences and share memories by visiting www.mannslonakerfuneralhome.com

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Frieden's United Church of Christ, the church where Pete and Karen married, at 1011 Church Rd, Sumneytown, PA 18084.
