Dorothy Shipe
2023-10-02

            Dorothy D. Shipe, 85, of Pennsburg, passed away on Thursday, September

28, 2023 in Quakertown. She was the widow of Raymond R. Shipe who passed away on November 16, 2015, 4 days before they would have celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on November 20, 2015.

            Born on December 7, 1937, in Reading, PA, she was the daughter of the late Russell C. and Edna (Weller) Diehl.

            Mrs. Shipe was a 1955 graduate of Upper Perkiomen High School. In the 1950s through 1970s, she was employed by the former Berman Sales Company in Pennsburg and the former Red Hill Savings and Loan in Red Hill.

            She was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church in Sumneytown. She was also a 67-year member of the Perkiomen Chapter #318 Order of the Eastern Star.

            Surviving is her daughter, Sharon E. Shipe of Pennsburg. In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by a brother, Lawrence M. Diehl, who passed away in 2022.

            Services will be held privately, with burial in Frieden's Union Cemetery.

            In lieu of flowers, contributions are suggested to either the Montgomery County SPCA, 1059 Sweisford Road, Perkiomenville, PA 18074 OR to THE OPEN LINK, 452 Penn Street, Pennsburg, PA 18073.
