Russel L. Crouthamel
2023-10-01

            Russel L. Crouthamel, 91, of Pennsburg, PA entered into rest on Wednesday,

September 27, 2023 at his residence.

            He was the loving husband of Dolores Mary (Kilroy) Crouthamel for 69 years. Russel was born in Quakertown, PA to the late John Russel Crouthamel and the late Helen Viola (Garis) Crouthamel.

            He graduated from Quakertown High School, class of 1951. Russel worked as a tool and die maker for the former H.B. Shup & Son Metal Fabrication in Trumbauersville, PA. He then served as a machinist in the United States Navy on the U.S.S. Ingraham & U.S.S. Forrest Sherman.

            Russel worked as a dump truck driver for the former Breiner Construction in Quakertown, PA. He then worked as a tool and die maker for a local company in Doylestown, for the former Orbit Manufacturing in Perkasie, and then for Daria Fabricators in Perkasie. After retiring in 1994, Russel worked part-time for Daria Fabricators.

            In addition to his wife, Russel is survived by his six children, Russel Michael Crouthamel & wife, Jean of Harleysville, PA, David Lamar Crouthamel & wife, Regina "Jean" of Allentown, PA, Doreen Marie Oberst of East Greenville, PA, Charles Francis Crouthamel & companion, Lynn Fahenstock of Port Orange, FL, Sheila Marie Crouthamel of Pennsburg, PA, Sharon Anne Nyman & husband, Bryan of Pennsburg, PA; his eight grandchildren; his nine great-grandchildren; his five siblings, Mark Kenneth Crouthamel, Sr. of Sellersville, PA, Donna Nanett Bright of Jensen Beach, FL, Barry "Butch" Donald Crouthamel & wife, Gail of Jensen Beach, FL, Dennis "Denny" Morgan Crouthamel & wife, Cecilia of Quakertown, PA, Linda Ann Nesfeder of Jensen Beach, FL; his brother-in-law, Luther "Bud" Gruver of Trumbauersville, PA; his sister-in-law, Linda Crouthamel of Quakertown, PA; and numerous nieces and nephews.

            A visitation will be held on Thursday, October 5, 2023 at Anders-Detweiler Funeral Home & Crematory, 130 E. Broad St., Souderton, Pennsylvania 18964 from 10 a.m. - 11 a.m. followed by a Celebration of Life Service at 11:00 a.m. The services will be Livestreamed.

            In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to: Bucks County SPCA, 60 Reservoir Road, Quakertown, PA 18951 http://www.bcspca.org/.
