Bobby L. Smith
2023-09-26

Bobby Leroy Smith, 88, of Pennsburg, passed away peacefully on Saturday

September 23, 2023 after a 10 year struggle with Alzheimer's Disease.  He was the devoted husband of Dolores "DeeDee" (Yerk) Smith, sharing almost 63 years of marriage.

Born in East Greenville, he was a son of the late John and Alverda (Kulp) Smith.

He was proud to be in the close-knit Upper Perkiomen High School Class of 1954.  Bobby took exceptional pride in his profession as a master craftsman Union Bricklayer and Stone Mason. He served honorably in the US Air Force from 1955-1963.

Bobby was a member of Pennsburg United Church of Christ.

His love of sports was reflected in his athletic ability on the football and baseball fields from the UPHS 1953 Championship Football Team and the Semi-Pro Sellersville Green Jackets, the local Eagle AA Leagues, and the US Air Force hardball competitions.

Bobby instilled in his three children the love of the game, coaching Little League, and attending all their school games.  He enjoyed traveling with DeeDee to many states, relaxing in Sullivan County at "The Pink Palace" and just watching the deer in his own backyard.

Surviving with his wife, are children: Lynn, wife of Ron Sturdevant, Todd Smith, and his wife, Lisa, and Kyle Smith; "Grumpop" to grandchildren: Adam, Kayla, Taylor, and Matt; and great-grandchildren: Aubrey, Adalynn, Aliviyah, Mary, Mila, Kaylee, and Mackenzie. He was pre-deceased by his siblings: Eva, Arthur, Ida, Arlene, Warren, Betty, Earl, and Dale.

A Celebration of Life will be on Saturday, September 30th at 11 a.m. at the Falk Funeral Home, 163 Main Street, Pennsburg. Friends may visit from 9:30-11 a.m.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions to the Alzheimer's Assn, Delaware Valley Chapter, 2595 Interstate Drive, Suite 100, Harrisburg, PA 17710.

To offer condolences, please visit his "Book of Memories" at falkuneralhomes.com.
