William A. "Bill" Pierson
William A. "Bill" Pierson of Perkiomenville passed away suddenly on
September 11, 2023. He was 67 years old. Born in Pottstown, he was the son of Faith A. (Lick) and the late William J. Pierson. He was also the beloved husband of Delores (Grizzle) Pierson.
Bill was an avid outdoorsman, who loved fishing, hunting, chain sawing, logging, and camping. He enjoyed fixing and collecting antique cars and teaching people, especially children, about the outdoors. He also loved pulling pranks on his grandchildren, who he would spend time with whenever he had the opportunity.
Bill learned how to hand carve at a young age and began handcrafting cedar top water fishing lures, which are now considered by many to be the finest in the world. He turned his hobby and passion for fishing into a business when he opened Pierson Plugs & Tackle in 2005.
Bill had a zest for life and loved swapping stories about the outdoors with his customers and friends. He took interest in people's lives and truly made each person who visited his shop feel important.
Bill was a loving husband, father, son, grandfather, and brother. In addition to his wife and mother, he will be dearly missed by his children, William S. Pierson, Sr. (Allison) of Pennsburg, Tabatha Kohler (Mark) of Lansdale, Alicia Pierson of Towanda; and Jeffrey Pierson (Mary) of Pennsburg; 11 grandchildren; one great grandchild; sister, Dianne Ellis of Virginia Beach, VA; and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to his father, he was predeceased by his brother, Michael E. Pierson.
His family would like to tell him one last time, "It's time to say goodbye, Bill."
Funeral services for Bill will be private. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations in Bill's name to a charity of your choice.
