George J. Wentling
2023-09-02

            George J. Wentling, 81, of Red Hill, passed away on Wednesday, August 30, 2023 at St. Luke's Hospital-Upper Bucks. He was the loving husband of Joanne L. (Hoffman) Wentling, sharing what would have been 49 years of marriage this December. He was also the loving father of Kevin O. Wentling.

            Born in Pennsburg, he was the son of the late Oswin and Twilia (Wieand) Wentling, Sr.

            George was a welder and supervisor for the former Steel Plant Equipment Co. in Eagleville for 25 years before his retirement in 2003.

            He was a member of St. Mark's Lutheran Church in Pennsburg, the East Greenville and Red Hill Fire Companies, Red Hill V.F.W. Post 5954 and a life member of the Owls Nest in East Greenville.

            George enjoyed NASCAR, taking bus trips with Joanne and Kevin and cheering on the Philadelphia Eagles and Phillies.

            Surviving along with his wife and son, are his 5 siblings: Oswin Wentling, Jr. and wife, Janet, Mary Ann Weikel, widow of Lamar, Otto Wentling and wife, Mary Lou, Raymond Wentling and wife, Christine and Richard Wentling and wife, June.

            A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, September 5, 2023 at Mann-Slonaker Funeral Home, 222 Washington St., East Greenville, PA 18041. A viewing will start at 10 a.m.  George will be buried privately at St. Mark's Lutheran Cemetery.
