Edward M. Coughlin
2023-08-08

            Edward M. Coughlin, 88, of Barto passed away peacefully on Friday,

August 4th, 2023. He was the beloved husband of the late Elizabeth Coughlin who passed away in 2020. Together again, on August 31, they will celebrate 68 years of marriage.

            Born in Philadelphia, he was the son of the late Edward and Mary (Halinka) Coughlin.

            He graduated from North Catholic High in Philadelphia and then worked for Honeywell in Fort Washington for over 35 years.

            Ed was an avid Philadelphia sports fan. He loved watching the Eagles and the Phillies. He and his wife also enjoyed visiting casinos. He loved his wife more than anything else.

            Edward is survived by his children: Michael Coughlin, and his wife Lori of Barto, Matthew Coughlin of Florida, Maureen Coughlin, and her wife Judy Haegele of Florida, Melissa, and her husband James Catagnus Sr. of Green Lane, and Christopher Coughlin, and his wife Ashley of Kentucky; 18 grandchildren; and great grandchildren and great great grandchildren. He was predeceased by his daughter, Mary Ray.

            All are invited to a viewing from 10 – 11 a.m. on Monday, August 14th at Most Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, 710 Pine St. in Bally. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. He will be laid to rest beside his wife in the church graveyard.

            In lieu of flowers, donations are suggested to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, lls.org.
