At 6:56 a.m. on Monday, Pennsburg police discovered the front door to the CBD store smashed in. Authorities determined that a subject entered the business by breaking the front glass door and crawling through it before stealing more than $1,700 worth of merchandise at around midnight.
According to store manager Russ Garber, the thief entered the store through the hole he smashed into the bottom of the door. The video showed the perpetrator going through the merchandise on the shelves "as if he were shopping." The subject was carrying what appeared to be a baseball bat and wearing a backpack with the words "East Penn" lettered on the back during his time in the store.
Similar attempted thefts occurred overnight at the EZ Shoppe and the Smoke Shop, both located in the 400 block of Main Street in East Greenville.

Upper Perk Police were continuing to canvass Main Street on Tuesday looking for surveillance videos that may have captured the suspected burglar traveling from one location to the other.
Both East Greenville incidents remain under investigation, according to Joshua C. Halteman, a sergeant with the municipality's police department.
