2023-07-18

Grace (Long) Kuhns, 88, long time resident of East Greenville, passed away

on Saturday, July 15, 2023 at Frederick Living where she had been residing. She was the loving wife of the late Edmund K. Kuhns, sharing 59 years of marriage before his passing in 2017.

Born and raised in East Greenville, she was the daughter of the late Leon B. and Eva A. (Krauss) Long.

Grace loved living life to the fullest! Taking each day as an opportunity to make another person's day better. She loved spending time with her family and friends, especially supporting her grandchildren. "Grami" was always there with a hug and a smile. She was always looking for a new adventure and loved to travel with family and friends. She was a lifelong Eagles and Phillies fan and loved to attend games.

Grace was employed in the sales support department at Stauffer Glove and Safety for 26 years before retiring in 1997. She was a lifetime member of Palm Schwenkfelder Church where she sang in the choir for many years and served as the Ladies Aide Society treasurer for 38 years.

She was a longtime supporter of the East Greenville Fire Company Ladies Auxiliary, the Upper Perkiomen High School Band Boosters and the Red Hill Band as well as an avid bowler.

In her retirement, she enjoyed volunteering at the Schwenkfelder Library and Heritage Center, reading, sewing and quilting.

Surviving are a son, Kenneth S. Kuhns and his wife, Maria of Bally; two grandsons, Terrence Kuhns of West Chester and Seth and wife Brianne Kuhns of Tucson, AZ; brother, Leroy E. Long of New Holland; a sister, Edna M. Rowland of Monroe Twp, NJ; and grandchildren of the heart Kerry Joy and Sam Weiss. In addition to her husband and parents, she is predeceased by an infant son.

Family and friends are invited to a viewing from 6 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, July 27th at the Mann-Slonaker Funeral Home, 222 Washington Street, East Greenville, PA. A celebration of life service will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, July 28, 2023 at Palm Schwenkfelder Church, 833 Gravel Pike, Palm, PA 18070 with a burial following in the church cemetery. A viewing will be held at the church from 10-10:45 a.m. prior to the service.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in her memory to Palm Schwenkfelder Church.
