Jack Schramm's solid pitching performance seemed to settle Perkiomen's American Legion baseball team last weekend. According to manager Mike Fitzgerald,

his efficiency allowed the rest of the team to play on its proverbial toes.
Schramm went the distance on the mound in a 9-3 victory over Doylestown on Sunday, June 18, in the Bux-Mont League at Bonekemper Field. He issued only one walk while striking out three.
Fitzgerald claimed that Schramm's effectiveness allowed the Post 184 offense to excel.
"Jack was great," the manager said of Schramm, who scattered eight hits. "It all starts with pitching. It's a different game when the pitcher isn't throwing strikes."
The following night, the team lost in extra innings at home. Plumstead needed eight innings to post an 8-7 victory.
Gavin Weiss and Brandon Godshall delivered solid pitching performances. Multiple infield errors cost Perkiomen the win, according to a text from Fitzgerald.
Against Doylestown, the Indians (1-5 overall, 1-4 league) rallied for five runs on six hits in the sixth inning to secure their first victory of the season. Brayden Adam and Brandon Godshall each delivered a two-out, two-run single to help them snap a 2-2 tie. "The hitters and pitchers were both engaged," the manager said.
Adam finished with three hits and four RBIs. Leadoff hitter Payton Borchelt and Connor Gehman each scored two runs for Perkiomen, which delivered 10 hits. Eight of its nine hitters posted at least one hit and seven scored at least one run.
"Everybody contributed," Fitzgerald said. "I believe that's a sign of what these players are capable of."
Post 184 responded in the bottom of the fifth inning after allowing the visiting Tigers to score the game-tying run in the top of the inning. The team sent nine hitters to the plate.
Jake Crenti's one-out single to left field triggered the outburst. Three hitters later, Adam – the Indians catcher – drove home two runs with a hit.
Though Adam was thrown out trying to take second base on the play, they continued to deliver at the plate. Liam Merrola singled to right and moved to third on Gehman's RBI double to right field. They both crossed the plate on Godshall's single to left.
The Indians opened the scoring with a pair of unearned runs in the bottom of the second inning. Gabriel Hammond delivered an RBI hit in the inning.
Post 210 tied the game in the top of the fifth. Schramm permitted two hits during the frame.
Earlier in the week, Post 184 dropped a pair of lopsided games. They lost 17-7 to Nor-Gwyn on Thursday, June 15 and 14-4 to Pennridge the following day.
The team managed six hits in the road loss against Nor-Gwyn. It rallied for three runs on four hits in the fourth inning.
Perkiomen is scheduled to play its next two games on the road. It will take on Plumstead at 7 p.m. on Friday at Hanusey Park. Three days later, it will face Pennridge at 6 p.m. at James Memorial Park.
