            The Grand View Auxiliary presented a gift of $140,000 to Grand View Hospital, bringing the annual total for the Auxiliary's fundraising to $160,500.             The $140,000 gift brings the group one step closer to meeting their $600,000 pledge in support of the new six-story, 190,000-square-foot Pavilion at Grand View Health. The Emergency and Trauma departments inside the Pavilion opened in April, with new operating rooms and patient rooms set to open this month.

            Earlier this month, Grand View Health's Breast Cancer Support Services received a $20,500 gift from the Auxiliary, proceeds from the group's annual Designer Bag Bingo event.

            "These funds make an important difference in the lives of our patients and empower area women as they navigate their breast cancer journeys," said Monique Gary, DO, Medical Director of the Grand View Health Cancer Program.

            "Designer Bag Bingo is a signature event for the Auxiliary, and the support from our breast cancer care team, cancer survivors, community partners and Grand View Health employees grows each year," Barb Matkowski, co-chair of the event said.

            Additional items of note from the Auxiliary's year-end meeting: Outgoing Auxiliary President Pat Schuck received the Auxilian of the Year award. "Pat has left a legacy of giving that will impact Grand View Health's patients for years to come," said Mark Horne, Senior Vice President and Chief Operating Officer at Grand View Health; and Dotty Gehres received a Friend of the Auxiliary award in recognition of her years of service;

            Four new Board officers were installed: Beth Schild, President, Debbie Horne, Vice President, Darlene Leidy, Recording Secretary, and Karen Brown, Assistant Treasurer.

            The Auxiliary supports Grand View Health's efforts throughout the community by raising funds to ensure the hospital continues its mission of leading our community to a healthier future. Upcoming events include the 50th Annual Golf Tournament, set for Aug. 7, 2023; the family-friendly Duck Derby; and the Festival of Lights Holiday Celebration.
