Upper Perk's Youth League Legion team suffered its first league loss last weekend and Manager Rick Rossiter was interested to see how the team responded after Lower Macungie scored the decisive run in the seventh inning on an error to post a 2-1 victory on Saturday, June 10 at Bonekemper Field.
On Tuesday, the Braves rebounded the way Rossiter hoped, posting a 3-0

victory over the Boyertown Grizzlies.
"Making mistakes against that team of that caliber can hurt us," Rossiter said of the Lower Macungie loss. "We did not play our game."
The visiting Rangers scored the winning run on a single by Alex Harris in the seventh inning. An outfield miscue on the hit allowed the unearned run in the Berks County League game. Harris scored the other run for the Rangers, who finished with six hits.
Cole Pierce absorbed the loss despite pitching into the seventh inning. He allowed just five hits and one earned run. "Cole pitched pretty well," Rossiter said
Lower Macungie pitcher Ryan Heller earned the mound victory, permitting just two hits during his complete game. He registered three strikeouts. "We hit the ball well," Rossiter said. "Lower Macungie made all the plays."
Benjamin Sands and Jordin Dice registered the only hits for the Braves, who committed two errors. Zane Saeger drove in their only run in the bottom of the third inning. Nate Schramm crossed the plate to put Upper Perk ahead 1-0.
Rossiter said his team welcomes the competition after posting several lopsided victories. Close wins will help prepare the Braves for the league playoffs and the regional tournament.

Benjamin Godshall led Upper Perk with two of its three hits and drove in two runs. Dice registered the other hit and scored a run.
