Annual gatherings held to preserve the Pennsylfawnish-Dietsche customs, heritage, and dialect of the Pennsylvania-Germans who settled in this section of the state.

Groundhog Lodge Number Seven displayed their recently complet-

ed "Rawd" wheel, beautifully designed, constructed, and donated

by Mark Kern of Upper Hanover Township.  Mark has been main-

taining the wheels for years and constructed the new one that will

serve the group for many years.

Michele Siegfried and Jen Fritz open the ladies

Fersommling on April 25 with a lesson on some

Pennsylfawnish-Dietsche words.

Women line up to dish out their dinner from a

large slection of foods brought to the potluck din-

ner at the East Greenvile Fire Company banquet

hall.

(center right) and Chris Kistler (center, left) to the

13-member boad as Gelthaver Joe Schultz looks

on.

Young Travis Haldeman, center, receives his neckerchief making him a member of Grundsow

Lodsh Numma Sivva.

The Fersommling's festivities include having new members pledge a

series of comedic and playful promises.
