Jeremiah F. Haas
2023-04-14

            Jeremiah "Jerry" Haas, 90, of the Souderton Mennonite Home, and formerly of

Pennsburg, passed away peacefully on Thursday, April 13th, 2023. He was the beloved husband of Joanne (Eisenhard) Haas. The couple was married 63 years this past September.

            Born in Pennsburg, he was a son of the late Willard and Dorothy (Gerhart) Haas.

            Jerry was a Fleet Manager for Lehigh Valley Ford/Vinart dealerships in Emmaus. Prior to that, he was employed by the former Berman Sales in Pennsburg and then Pottstown.

            Jerry was a lifelong member of New Goshenhoppen United Church of Christ, where he served as a Consistory member and on several other committees for many years. He was a former member of the Upper Perk Jaycees, a member of the Upper Perk Lions Club, and a founding and lifelong member of the Thirteen Buck Club in Elk County.

            Jerry was an avid outdoorsman, enjoyed hunting and fishing, and watching Penn State and Philadelphia Eagles football games with his family.

            Surviving with his wife, are daughters: Jerilyn Giacone and husband, Joseph, of Wantagh, NY, and Jolene, wife of Anthony Scarcia II, of Bethlehem; granddaughters: Jennifer and Jessica Giacone; siblings: Dean Haas Sr., Dale Haas & wife, Teresa; Cheria Kolb, Diane Steinman, Donna Bozzelli & husband, Kenneth; Beverly Bozzelli & husband, Edward; Dorothy Brensinger & husband, Allan; sister-in-law Barbara Haas; and many nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brothers, Willard Haas, Jr and Ray I. Haas.

            A viewing will be held from 9-10:45 a.m. on Monday, April 17, 2023, at New Goshenhoppen UCC, 1070 Church Road, East Greenville, PA. A funeral service will follow at 11 a.m.  Burial will be in the church cemetery.

            In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Church or to the charity of your choice.
