Helen C. Henker
2023-04-01

            Helen C. Henker, of Pennsburg and formerly of Bedford, NY, passed away on

March 30, 2023 at her home.  She was the wife of the late Erwin B. Henker, with whom she shared 65 years of marriage.

            She was born in Mount Kisco, NY to the late Joseph and Margaret (Artwick) Progeske. 

            Helen was employed in the family produce business, Henker Brothers' Farm for many years before retiring.

            Helen loved knitting and enjoyed family picnics.  In her younger years, she enjoyed bowling at Bedford Village Fire Company, listening to polka and country music and going dancing with her husband Erwin.

            She is survived by her sons: James Teffertiller, Thomas Henker and wife Julia; grandchildren: Dominique Goodwin and Tiffany Henker; great-grandchildren: Quin, Drew, and Jace; and cousin, Shirley Fancher and her daughter Holly Dunn who were caretakers in NY.  She was also preceded in death by siblings: Mary Mead, Marge Ferguson and Joseph Progreske.

            A viewing will be held on Monday, April 3, 2023 at Mann-Slonaker Funeral Home, 222 Washington St., East Greenville, PA 18041 from 6-7:30 p.m..  She will be laid to rest alongside her husband Erwin on Thursday, April 6, 2023 12:00 p.m. at Middle Patent Rural Cemetery, Middle Patent Rd., Bedford, NY 10506.

            In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in her memory to the Community Baptist Church, 7350 Elementary Rd., Coopersburg, PA 18036.
