Kenneth L. Miller
2023-03-07

            Kenneth L. Miller, 89, of Pennsburg, passed away peacefully on Saturday,

March 4, 2023. He was the beloved husband of 67 years to Jeanette (Gaugler) Miller.

            Born in East Greenville, he was a son to the late George S. and Mazy (Barndt) Miller Gery.

            Ken served our country honorably in the US Army during the Korean War.  He retired from Occidental as a bricklayer.

            He was an outstanding athlete; Ken was a 1951 graduate of East Greenville High School. He signed and played minor league baseball under the Pittsburgh Pirates. He played semi-pro basketball and had the honor of playing against Wilt Chamberlain. Ken was a Basketball referee for 45 years and served as the Pac 10 basketball commissioner.

            Ken spent his retirement years in his woodshop and working in his garden. He could always be found following his grandchildren's athletic endeavors.  He was a Member of St. Philip Neri Catholic Church.

            Along with his wife, he is survived by: a son William K. Miller and his wife, Rosemary of Mansfield, PA, his daughter: Jennifer and her husband John O'Donnell of West Chester, PA; grandchildren: John and Katie O'Donnell; step grandchildren: Laurie Serka, David and Scott Jones; and step-great grandchildren: Jacob and William Serka, and Haleigh and Noah Jones; his sister, Donna Schwenk; and his brother-in-law, Leemon Gaugler. He was predeceased by his siblings: Donald "Doc" Miller and Grace Geho, Gloria Heydt, Fern Halfinger, and Betty Gauger.

            At his request, there will be no services.

            Donations may be made in his memory to St. Philip Neri Catholic Church.
