The state police and the Upper Perkiomen Police Department are investigating a burglary and subsequent theft of three vehicles and a rifle which occurred during the overnight hours of Jan. 13 into Jan. 14 in three separate municipalities.
At approximately 4:15 a.m. on Jan. 14, unknown actors forcibly entered a detached garage at the rear of the residence on the 100 block of Main Street in East Greenville Borough, according to information posted Tuesday on the state police's Crimewatch website.
The actors removed a red Honda CRF450 off-road motorcycle and a blue Yamaha YZ450 off-road motorcycle, valued together at more than $15,000. The motorcycles were driven from the scene to the 200 block of School Alley in East Greenville.
One motorcycle was stashed in a parking lot at that location. The actors then stole a white, Ford E-150 cargo van from the 600 block of Main Street in Pennsburg, approximately seven blocks away.
The actors loaded the motorcycles into the back of the stolen cargo van before fleeing the scene. They then drove to the 600 block of Gravel Pike in Upper Hanover where they forcibly entered a truck parked at an apartment building and stole a rifle.
Video surveillance captured three actors as well as a black Dodge Charger being driven by one of the suspects. They appear to be white or Hispanic males, according to information posted by police.
One actor has a tattoo on the back of his right hand.
