previously owned a print shop for 37 years that they sold in 2019, before "retiring" into the restaurant business.
Annette, her sisters and her friends have always frequented tea houses, loving the low key, relaxing atmospheres, the fresh food and meeting new people so Zinnia's seemed a logical step for their last hurrah before retirement.
Housed in the former George Melcher home at 622 Main St., Bally, this beautiful home was built in 1900 and has the family history spread across a large dining room wall. We invite you to come in, see the master craftsmanship and learn more about George, his amazing family and the many contributions he has made to the Bally Area.
Entering the building is like taking a step back in time. Rich woodwork, custom hardwood floors and original built-in cabinetry, paired with furniture and china, all sourced from thrift shops or curbside rescues, add to the unique experience that is Zinnia's Tea House.
Their regular menu includes weekly specials, traditional tea house faire, coffee, loose teas and soft drinks. If you're celebrating a special occasion we encourage you to bring your favorite wine and stemware, though you are always welcome to sip from their fine china teacups. Weekly happenings, special events and community gatherings are posted on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram. Follow them on @ZinniasTeaHouse.
Whether ordering take-out or stopping in for lunch, snacks or to celebrate a special occasion we are sure when you come through the door you will feel like you're visiting an old friend. Hope to see you soon!
